"Historic Stone Fence", Sevastopol Twp
This fence or wall extends for hundreds of meters on both sides of the Scharven Lake road and could be close to two kilometres long. This section of the original 1890s fence has been rebuilt but most of the structure is in disrepair and sections are barely visible.
Opinicon Hotel, Chaffeys Lock on the Rideau Canal
In 2012, the main building and cottages sitting on some 115 acres of wooded landscape appeared destined to disappear and resume life as a trailer park. This represented a serious loss for the heritage of Chaffeys Lock and indeed, for the entire Rideau Canal.
