The small plaque by this tree identifies it as a White Oak but it is a Bur Oak. It is at least 250 years old.

Bebbs Oak

Dominion Arboretum, Ottawa Bebbs Oak is a natural occurring hybrid, a cross between a White Oak & a Bur Oak. The tree was transplanted from a local woodlot to its present location in 1898. Most of its growth has occurred in the last 100 years.
