    As always Tanya travelled in style accompanied by her own photographer and bike technician. Despite his inability to say "EH" Kenny was declared an honourary Canadian by the team .

    At Canada Corner there was a a moderately steep climb with a near 90 degree turn in the middle. It was a good section for overtaking.

    Jean-Francois, like many competitors from overseas, rented bikes in Italy rather than bringing their own.

    There was a large Canadian flag hung between two trees - top right. There is a sharp 90 degree turn just above the rider that added to the technical difficulty of the hill.

    The tire could not be patched so Michael rode what he could and walked the technical sections.

    The organization of the event was outstanding. The race venue was centred in a large camp grounds and much of the bike course was through a national forest.

    The water temperature was 24.5 C so wetsuits were not allowed. Fortunately the water was calm.
